PURPOSE

Opportunity to simulate your plans for the mini-marathon. The training run & walk is designed for runners and walkers of all levels of ability.

  • A great opportunity to practice your complete plans for the mini (pace, water intake, clothing, shoes, etc.) You can pace, plan, or race.
  • A good occasion to finalize your goals as this event will tell you where you really are as to your physical and mental preparation.
  • Provides companionship for the last long training run or walk before the big day.

WHEN
Sunday morning, April 20, 2008. Start time is 7:30am.

WHERE
Franklin Central High School (next to Franklin Twp. Middle School), 6019 South Franklin Road, Indianapolis (corner of Edgewood Ave & Franklin Rd). NOT Franklin, IN. For driving directions go to www.mapquest.com.

Go to the gym in the Performance Arts Building which is located on the northwest end of the high school - using Entrance No. 9.

This event is free to Bricks to Bricks Training Program entrants (however, there is a $8.00 charge for the t-shirt)

DISTANCE
10 Miles. Flat loop course with the start and finish at the Franklin Central High School.

MEDICAL
Provided by St. Francis Sports Medicine.

PARKING
Parking at the High School. You may park in the Middle School lot north of the High School.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

  • 4 water stops
  • Each mile is marked (splits will be called at the 5-mile mark)
  • Portable toilets near 2 1/4, 6, and 7 3/4 miles
  • Medical along the course and at the start/finish area
  • Some traffic control
  • There are no awards, but the event will be timed and results posted online.
  • Fazoli's spaghetti, meat sauce, bread sticks, lemonade, tea, plus other goodies.


Dag System
The chip is attached to your bib number, one single product for timing and identification. No wasting time, pick up your bib number and have your chip already in place. No more having to stop after you cross the finish line. There is a chip start system at the start line, so that you can receive your chip time and gun time. All awards and results are based off of the time the gun goes off, not the time that you cross the start line.
