Wheaton World Wide Moving to Host Independence 10K Run and 5K Walks to Benefit Give Kids the World

INDIANAPOLIS (June 9, 2003)- Indianapolis-based Wheaton World Wide Moving announces its ongoing commitment to Give Kids the World, an organization that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses.

In order to raise funds that will continue to assist in the ongoing mission of this organization, Wheaton World Wide Moving will host the Wheaton World Wide Moving Independence 10K Run and 5K Walks on Thursday evening, July 3rd.

All proceeds from the Wheaton Independence Run and Walks will benefit Give Kids the World. This organization provides a weeklong dream vacation to Central Florida that includes accommodations, attraction tickets and meals, all at no cost. In order to make this happen, corporate partners, like Wheaton assist in the future growth of this organization through fundraising such as this year’s run and walks.
 
WHAT:The Wheaton Independence 10K Run, 5K Competitive Walk and 5K Family Fitness Walk is open to people of all ages and abilities.

WHEN:Thursday evening, July 3rd

WHERE:IUPUI Natatorium, 901 W. New York St., Indianapolis, IN

TIME:Registration and Packet Pick-Up
Wednesday, July 2nd at Indiana Gas, a Vectren Company (1630 N. Meridian St.) 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

PARKING:Parking will be available at the IUPUI lot across the street from the track for $3 per car.

AWARDS:Awards will be presented promptly at 10:00 p.m. at the east end of the track. Cash awards will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the run and competitive walk. Gift certificates will be given to the top three in each age division, and cash awards will also be awarded to the top three male and female masters (age 40 and over) in the run.

AGE GROUPS:15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65- 69; and 70-74; 75-79; and 80 and up.

YOUTH AWARDS:All youth awards for first, second and third place in the RUN ONLY will be available for boys and girls in the 12 & Under and 13-14 age divisions. All finishers age 14 and under in both the run and walks will receive a finisher’s medal.
