Friday Evening, September 16
Be a part of the Irish celebration by participating in the Indy Irish Festival 5K Night Run and Walk which benefits Indianapolis Police Department's Civilian Volunteer Police and Explorers club. Help us help our local public safety heroes.

Participants will be treated to a great course through Downtown Indianapolis enlivened with bagpipers along the way. After you finish, you will be treated to free entrance to the festival to enjoy Irish rock and traditional music on four stages, shop at the Irish Market and treat yourself to Irish food and beverages of choice. Each 5K participant will also be given weekend passes for two to come back to the festival on Saturday and Sunday. Plan on staying Friday after your 5K and coming back all weekend. AWARDS
Presentation of awards is at 9:00 p.m. on the St. Francis Hospital stage at Military Park. Cash awards to the first three male and female finishers in the open and masters divisions in the run. Gift certificates from The Running Company to the top three male & female finishers in the competitive walk and each age division in the run and competitive walk.

The age divisions in the run and competitive walk start at 20 to 24 in 5 year increments to 80 & over. The Running Company gift certificate values for age division awards are 1st Place $15; 2nd Place $12; and 3rd Place $10.

Youth Age Division Awards in the RUN only. The top 3 finishers, boys and girls, in divisions 12 & Under, 13 to 14 and 15 to 19. All finishers age 14 and under in all events will receive a finisher's medal. Please pick up the medal near the awards ceremony area.

PLEASE NOTE: All awards must be picked up during the Awards Ceremony - none will be mailed.

COMPETITIVE WALKERS - The walk course will be monitored. No running or jogging will be permitted and those people called with be disqualified and ineligible for awards. The decision of the monitors will be final.

 
 

RACE HIGHLIGHTS
Door Prizes
Participants will have the opportunity to win door prizes featuring Guinness and Killian's merchandise, and Claddagh Irish Pub gift certificates which will be drawn during the awards presentations.

Irish Music
Enjoy Irish music performed on four stages by musicians from Ireland, Canada and all over the United States including Gaelic Storm, Brother, Gael Force, Off Kilter, and Brigid's Cross.

Shop at the Irish Market
Shop the more than twenty vendors from all over the United States selling imported Celtic merchandise including clothing, food, jewelry, photographs, pottery, ornaments, and genealogy items.

Listen to a 2005 U.S. Cross Country champion and American world record holder and the former world record holder in the indoor mile speak on training, motivation and how to avoid injuries.

Win door prizes! Talk with the staff from St. Francis Hospital's Running & Walking Clinic.

Kilted Mile at 2p.m. Sunday, September 18
Entrants must wear a kilt. Sport kilts can be purchased or rented on site or visit the website www.thecelticcroft.com. The Kilted Mile is a fun event. Bagpipe bands will pipe motivational music along the course. Awards will be given to the top three finishers and for the following:

  • Bonniest Knees
  • Hairiest Legs
  • Best Dressed Kilt
  • Least Likely to Finish

    Indy's Irish Festival, an all volunteer 501(c)3 not-for profit organization, was formed in 1995 to host the first festival. Its mission is to preserve, promote and nurture Irish culture, arts, music and history.
