2012 Underground Railroad Run
Welcome!
The Underground Railroad Run is a 5K race and 3K fitness walk (not timed) starting at Westfield High School and meandering through historic downtown Westfield. There is a recovery station and health fair open to all. A cotton or "tech" race shirt is available for purchase.
Elementary school children must be accompanied by an adult. Please, for the safety of our participants, no pets on race day.

Three participants who pick up their pre-ordered shirt on Friday, will be entered in a drawing for a $50 Gift Certificate to BlueMile.
Friday pick-up is for anyone who had ordered a shirt OR any participant wanting to pick up their bib number the day before the event. You may also pick up shirts and or bib numbers on Race Day in the WHS Multi-Purpose Instructional Facility, beginning at 7:30 am, door #13.

After you finish, please join us in the WHS Cafeteria for complimentary water, juice, tea, coffee, fruit and cookies before the awards ceremony.

Age Division Awards (Male & Female)
Gift Certificates will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age division of the 5K: $15, $12 and $10. The divisions start at age 20, in 5 year increments. The top three boys and girls will receive trophies in their age divisions: 12 & Under,
13-14 and 15-19.
NOTE: Masters (Age 40+) are eligible for overall awards too!
Westfield Education Foundation
Our mission is to promote excellence in education for students at Westfield Washington Schools through classroom teaching grants, academic awards and college scholarships to enrich their learning experience. To date, the Foundation has awarded over $715,000 in scholarships and teacher grants.
The URR is our primary fundraiser for the school year. Other events include our Dinner Dance and Silent Auction in the Fall, Yankee Candle Sales, Education License Plates, The CollegeChoice Fund, as well as the WHS brick "Wall of Fame". The Westfield School with the highest URR student registration will win rights to the traveling trophy as well as $500 for their school's Physical Education program.
Scholarship Drawing
All Westfield HIgh School college bound seniors will have their name entered one time in a $350 URR Scholarship drawing. Several scholarships will be awarded. Any Westfield senior who registers for the 2012 URR Fitness Walk or Race, will have their name entered into the drawing a total of five times.
Event Highlights
- Confirmation - Will be emailed to all pre-registered entrants with an email address.
- Results - Will be emailed containing personal results to each timed finisher who has provided an email address. Complete results will be posted on KLA's website.
- Youth Awards - Trophies for finishers in the 5K in age divisions 12 & Under, 13 - 14 &
15 - 19.
