2009 Marathon / Half-Marathon Training Program

Our program covers topics such as nutrition, stretching, injury prevention, injury treatment, and strengthening, which will be covered by professionals from St. Francis Hospitals & Health Centers. We also cover subjects such as...
The four C's of training - course, conditions, capabilities, completion- Where do I start
- Cross training - different types - what are their results - how to schedule into training
- Balance: Family, Work, Training
- Handling the mid-season slump
- Setting realistic goals for training & your events
- Using other races to peak and learn for the big one
- Dress for success - especially for a distance event
- The importance of recovery and rest days
- Race day logistics
- Tapering / Race Pace / Goals
- and much, much more...
Although we have group runs and walks at each session, our focus is on coaching and providing relevant instruction. The Marathon & Half-Marathon Training Program provides an overview of all aspects of training in order to peak for the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon or the marathon / half-marathon of your choice.
KLA believes that there is much more to running and walking a road race than just putting one foot in front of the other. We feel that going out and just doing mileage, whether individually or with a group, is not sufficient to adequately meet your goals.
